One of the things that I’ve already learned from my DSLR is the value of twilight, particularly in urban environments. Dim light forces you to use longer exposures, and these can give you unexpected results when electric lighting is just starting to turn on for the night.
This is a twilight panorama I took in Paris a few weeks ago — from the steps of the Sacré Coeur basilica, looking down into town. I like the way that the isolated strips of artificial light bring a quirky bit of color to an otherwise gray looking scene.
