This picture comes from Florence, Italy — and is one of my favorites just for the story behind it.

I’m not quite sure what the story of the building is (although the text on the placard over the door translates to “Emissary: Primary Entrance”). Maybe an old embassy? Anyway, I liked the look of the place because of all the water stains, and plant growth in the masonry — gives it character, you know?
So I was standing across the street, trying to frame the building somewhat attractively, when apparently I caught the attention of the lady waiting at the bus stop. Once she swiveled around to see what I was looking at, I just had to take her picture too!
Update: this picture is also on Flickr, and in the gallery as well (should you decide you’d like to buy a print).
