“3D for Everyone” voting — the polls are now open

You may recall that a little while back, I did a post on the “cha-cha” method of making a 3D image. This was tied up with my submission for a contest being held over at Neil Creek’s blog. Well, now submissions are closed, and voting is open…

Macro vs. Macro

So I’ve managed over the past few months to gather up a mangy collection of hardware for my E-510, the purpose of (some of) it being to enable me to make macros. I thought it was about time to pull together some sort of side-by-side comparison of how it all performs….

Oly 50mm macro — now that’s good bokeh!

As I’ve mentioned, I bought the Olympus 50mm f/2.0 macro lens for my kit a few weeks back. Then, you combine them with a little free software….

Diffusers — to DIY, or not to DIY…

As far as I’m aware, all DSLRs have a built-in flash — and from what I can tell, these flashes all pretty much stink. Of course, you’ve got a range of options for dealing with this — depending on how much money you want to spend, and how much additional gear you want to wind up carrying…

Galleries and such

If you’ve ever explored this site very much, or been a reader of the blog for long, you are likely aware that I’ve associated both with my Flickr account. It was probably the only way to get things started, but this hasn’t really been ideal for a number of reasons…
