An old (film) dog's odyssey to learn new (digital) tricks

Looking up, looking down

September 29th, 2008 in Images, Indoor

A few days ago I showed you the outside of the Desert View Watchtower. Now I’ll take you inside with this little diptych I put together:

Looking up, looking down

The watchtower has 4 floors in it — and the middle two have holes conveniently cut in the middle of them, so you can get a bit more of a feel for the size of the thing from the inside.

It looks large and it is a very interesting place. That should be a National Treasure.

Thanks for dropping by, Michael! Actually, the fisheye makes it look larger inside than it really is — it’s maybe 20′ across at the base, but 70′ tall (so the ceilings are REALLY high). It’s a wonderfully historic place, and being inside the National Park, well protected (legally).
