The Colorado state capitol, that is…
This is another shot from my trip into downtown Denver last Friday night, primarily to photograph the Christmas lights on the mall and on downtown buildings. But as luck would have it, the night our little group went out shooting (December 12) was also marked by the largest full moon in 15 years. Since it was not too high in the eastern sky at the time, I wandered over by capitol hill to get a shot of it behind the dome.
It didn’t occur to me at the time, but I really *should* have taken another shot with a faster shutter speed to get the moon — then done some HDR work so that both the dome and moon would be properly exposed in one frame.
Oh, well…
