On our recent family trip to the Los Angeles area, one place we stopped at was the (unintentionally ironically named) Farmers Market. I say ironically because where I live (Colorado), farmers’ markets actually include real live farmers! At the “Original Los Angeles Farmers Market,” though, you’ll have to search high and wide to find much in the way of produce. I suspect it started out as a more traditional farmers’ market, but over time has morphed into an outdoor (but under cover) street market.
Not that the food you’ll find there is bad, far from it. But it’s definitely outgrown the name…
So while “the pup” was finishing her lunch, I wandered off from her and my wife to do a little guerilla photography of the locals. BTW, if you’re keeping score, I used Oly’s 50-200mm lens for this work — it turns out that it gives me just enough “reach” to photograph people who wouldn’t likely think “that guy way over there” could be taking their picture.
This is one of my favorite shots from the bunch. I was actually trying to get a good shot of the gent in the foreground, but then the dark haired woman wandered into the frame, and I just had to capture her intense expression.
