If you ever find yourself in the Los Angeles metro area, you really owe it to yourself to check out the Getty Center. Admission is free (although you have to pay $10 for parking if you drive to it), there’s an amazing amount of incredible art on display, and the architecture is mind-blowing.
While I was taking shots of the buildings, I ran across this couple:
At first I was annoyed that they just wouldn’t move away from the windows — they were messing up my nice shot, after all! Then I realized that they were “my shot.”
I was struck by the similarity of their pose to the geometry of the reflected buildings, combined with the contrast of the cold / hard buildings with the couple’s human forms. Compare and contrast…
