As you’ve almost certainly noticed, I haven’t posted in weeks. Basically, I’ve been off on a family vacation and have only had sporadic wi-fi connectivity. But now I can tell you all about it, and have the pictures to show for it.
Our trip by the numbers:
- 17 days
- 3600 miles in the air
- 3300 miles driving
- 3 U.S. states
- 3 Canadian provinces
- Just shy of 2,000 photographs — plus some bits of video
It was a doozey of a trip — fly from Denver to Boston, drive up the Atlantic coast until we ran out of land (at the northern tip of Newfoundland), then turn around and come back. I’ll be posting shots from this trip for months…
On the next-to-last day of the trip, we were in Boston for the 4th of July. Here’s a colorful shot from the city’s Independence Day fireworks:
I took this from the east end of the Longfellow bridge, looking over the Charles River Basin. You can see a few of the hundred of boats there, silhouetted by the fireworks’ reflection.
