I saw this in a trinket shop in Albuquerque ages ago, and have been pretty much sitting on the shot, waiting for a fitting date. Today’s All Souls’ Day (a.k.a., El dia de los muertos), so I thought it’d be a good fit.
The shop had a whole shelf full of these little guys — skeletal horn sections, 3 players in a piece. Pretty nicely done, if you’re comfortable with the motif (personally, I think hispanic culture handles mortality in a more healthy fashion than does the prevailing view in the U.S.).
Hope everybody had a fun & safe Halloween!
