Here’s looking at you…

A very cooperative “bearded dragon,” photographed at the Denver Zoo…

Have a kiss for me, princess?

Another shot from my recent nighttime photowalk at the Denver Zoo:

Unlike some of the other zoo residents, this little critter (a Mossy Frog) was more than happy to sit still for me while I tried a few different flash settings on him. From the placard:

This frog from Vietnam has evolved skin warts, protrusions, [...]

Push me, pull you

When we were in Honolulu, we saw about a dozen of these little birds looking for food in a park near the beach…

Koi dreams

Dozing

Going back to last summer’s Seattle trip for this one. Here’s a sleepy resident of the local aquarium…

In the gates

Black & white & curious all over…

You might recall this “model” from a previous image…

On patrol

A bengal tiger at the Los Angeles Zoo:

When I was at the zoo, the attendants had just set out food for the tigers — but only the adult male was in their outdoor area, his kids were nowhere to be seen. Instead of eating the food, he would sniff at it from time [...]

Climber

A Zebra Longwing (Heliconius charitonius) butterfly…

Gerenuk

Another shot from the L.A. Zoo, this time of a Gerenuk…
