So I’ve managed over the past few months to gather up a mangy collection of hardware for my E-510, the purpose of (some of) it being to enable me to make macros. I thought it was about time to pull together some sort of side-by-side comparison of how it all performs….

As I’ve mentioned, I bought the Olympus 50mm f/2.0 macro lens for my kit a few weeks back. I’m discovering it’s a fantastic piece of glass when you want to draw a viewer’s attention to part of the frame — it gives you a very shallow depth of field (DOF) when it’s wide open, particularly up close. It also gives you really nice bokeh…
